LIGI KUU BARA, UN CHAMPIONNAT QUI PREND UNE GRANDE VALEUR EN AFRIQUE !
Le championnat tanzanien de football (Ligi Kuu Bara) a été créé en 1965. Au fil des années le format de la compétition a connu des changements et aujourd’hui 16 clubs animent le championnat en s’affrontant en Aller-retour.
Au terme de chaque saison, le champion se qualifie pour la Ligue des champions de la CAF, le dauphin pour la Coupe de la confédération. Les trois derniers clubs au classement eux, sont relégués en deuxième division.
Avec ses 24 titres de champion, Young Africans est le plus titré du pays de ce championnat. L’autre équipe basée à Dar es Salam, Simba SC vient juste derrière grâce à 22 trophées de champion. Avant 1971, le club s’appelait Dar Sunderland.
La structuration du championnat et la présence régulière de ses représentants (Young Africans et Simba SC) au premier plan dans les compétitions africaines notamment ces dernières années, fait de » Ligi Kuu Bara », un championnat de plus en plus attractif sur le continent. Le meilleur joueur du championnat ivoirien 2022-2023, Pacôme Zouzoua, précédemment joueur de l’ASEC Mimosas a rejoint cette saison le Young Africans. C’est la preuve que ce championnat intéresse les grands joueurs du continent africain.
Sacré champion, à l’issue de la saison, le Young Africans SC a porté haut le flambeau du pays en jouant la finale de la Coupe de la Confédération de la saison 2022-2023.
